Water chiller is a kind of cooling equipment which offers circulated cooled water flow to satisfy your various cooling or dehumidifying requirements. In air conditioning systems, chilled water is circulated to heat exchangers or coils in air handlers or other terminal equipment where water exchanges heat with air, and then the chilled water is re-circulated back to the water chiller to be cooled again. During this process, the sensible heat and latent heat from the air is transferred to the chilled water via cooling coils. In this way, air stream is cooled and dehumidified.
The cooling capacity of a typical water chiller for air conditioning applications is usually 15 to 1500 tons (180,000 -18,000,000 BTU/h or 53-5,300 kW).
According to different application requirements, chilled water temperatures can range from 35 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit or 1.5 to 7 degrees Celsius.
